LAN / WAN Technician

Job Description:
* Support product evaluation and integration, network hardware and software system testing, strategic planning, and emerging technology investigation.
* Analyze customer troubles and determine the best technical solution, with specifications of WAN components and system integration techniques.
* Assesses bandwidth requirements to support numerous offsite facilities throughout the world.
* Implement connectivity to function with cryptology equipment at each site while ensuring high availability of critical data.
* Operations and maintenance (O&M) of SONET equipment.
* This position requires the execution of good engineering practices that detail the overall system architecture, detailed breakdown of signal/test point values.
* Active US Government Top Secret security clearance preferred.
Knowledge of the following equipment:
* Nortel OC-48 BLSR, TTC 310 and Tektronix test equipment, FORE Systems, Cisco-2500, 4500, 7200 routers and 3690 switches, Bay Networks, SAMBA, Openstep 4.x and APACHE Web Server, CYLINKS, Optical power meters, Oscilloscopes/Firebirds.
* Other related items include various crypto (KG) units, multiplexers, modems, cable and connector types, and common data interface standards.
Experience Level requirements:
* Senior Level: 9+ years of relevant experience as listed above
* Journeyman Level: 5-8 years of relevant experience as listed above
* Entry Level: 1-4 years of relevant experience as listed above
